U.S. Leaders, Jewish and Non-jewish, Join Committee to Honor Einstein

American leader, non-Jewish as well as Jewish in every field of endeavor, have joined the committee which is arranging a celebration in honor of Professor Albert Einstein, scheduled for April 16th at the Metropolitan Opera House, in honor of his fiftieth birthday, which he celebrated March 14th. Herman Bernstein, chairman of the Einstein Celebration Committee announced. The committee is under the joint auspices of the Jewish National Fund and the Zionist Organization of America. Nathan Straus is honorary chairman.

The heads of leading American universities-Columbia, New York University, Cornell, Barnard, Princeton, the Jewish Institute of Religion and the Hebrew Union College-are among the members of the committee.

The university heads who have joined the committee are Chancellor L. E. Brown of New York University. Dr. Nicholas Murray Butler, president of Columbia University, President Livingston Farnand of Cornell University, Dean Virginia Gildersleeve of Barnard, Professor John Grier Hibbert, president of Princeton University, Dr. Julian Morgenstern, president of Hebrew Union College. Dr. Stephen S. Wise. president of the Jewish Institute of Religion.

Others on the committee are: Prof Frank Boas. Arthur Brisbane, David A. Brown, Dr. S. Parkes Cairman, Judge Benjamin N. Cardoza. Prof. J. McKean Cattell, Alfred M. Cohen, president of B’nai B’rith. Prof. A. Broderick Cohen, Prof. Morris Raphael Cohen, Dr. John H. Finley, Dr. Lee K. Frankel. Prof. Benjamin Harrow, Dr. John Haynes Holmes, minister of the Community Church. Prof. Joseph Jastrow, Otto H. Kahn. Dr. Nathan Krass. Lieut-Gov. Herbert H. Lehaman, Adoph Lewisohn. Bishop William T. Manning, Louis Marshall, Dr. George W. Ochs-Oakes Judge Joseph H.
