U.s Military Plane Forced to Land by Israelis; Violated Air Space

Two Israel fighters forced an American military transport to land at Lydda airport yesterday when it violated Israel air space over the Haifa area. After the American plane failed to head a radio order to land, one fighter fired a short machine gun burst ahead of the plane, which then landed.

The plane its crew and passengers were permitted to leave after interrogation by Israel officials Col David Petersen, American air attache in Israel was present during the interrogation of the crew by Israel officers.
