U.S. Provided 59% of J.N.F. Income in 1940

The Jewish National Fund provided 130,000 days of work during the past year in afforestation and other land amelioration, especially in the hilly districts of the Galilee, Samaria and Judaea, where stony ground was converted into cultivable areas, it was announced today.

The share of the United States in the record J.N.F. world income of L608,000 amounted to 59 per cent. Palestine raised six per cent. Leasehold income jumped from an average L10,000 annually to L12,000 in the past year, mainly because of urban and industrial leases.
