The Religious Zionists of America last night called upon the United Nations and the United States State Department “to call an immediate halt to the illegal Egyptian interference with Israeli ships and cargoes in the Suez Canal.” In resolutions adopted at the closing session of the organization’s annual convention here, the religious Zionist group also asked the U.S. Government to broaden its program of economic aid to Israel.

The delegates also called upon the Soviet Union to grant the exercise of freedom of religion and liberty of assembly to its 3,000,000 Jewish citizens.

Other resolutions adopted by the delegates asked the State Department and U.S. Armed Forces to remove any barriers to the stationing of Jewish personnel in any part of the world and called for continued support of the United Jewish Appeal, the Jewish National Fund and the Israel bond campaign.
