U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell said Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat is “lost” and is intent on evading blame for anything in the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian violence. Powell’s comment came during a March 29 meeting with President Bush and German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and was reported in a leaked cable from the German Embassy in Washington, according to The New York Times.
