U.S. Sen. Joseph Lieberman lost the Connecticut Democratic primary to an anti-war challenger, but vowed to run this fall as an independent. Lieberman, who made history in 2000 as the first Jew on a viable presidential ticket, lost Tuesday by four percent to Ned Lamont, a cable TV millionaire.
