The opportunity for three months work and training in some of Israel’s most vital industries will be offered to young American student engineers, architects and draftsmen next summer under a new work-in-Israel program sponsored by the Youth Department of the Jewish Agency, it was announced today at the Jewish Agency here.
Participants in the program must be advanced undergraduate or graduate students or apprentices in specialized trades, preferably engineering, architecture, drafting and surveying where the chief openings lie. They will be assigned to jobs in various private and public industries with salaries sufficient to cover housing and living expenses. The program, extending from June 1st to September 1st, will include a series of sightseeing trips around Israel and a ten-day orientation seminar. Applications will be accepted up to March 1st, 1952. Participants must pay for their own transportation to and from Israel.
This program is in addition to the two regular work-study tours of Israel, sponsored every summer by the Jewish Agency, which are open to all persons between the ages of 18 and 35.
