U.S. support for Ariel Sharon has not affected Arab willingness to work with the United States in Iraq. Marc Grossman, an undersecretary of state, told the Senate on Thursday that Arab-U.S. projects are going ahead despite anger in the Arab world at U.S. recognition of some Israeli claims to the West Bank and rejection of Palestinian refugees’ demand to return to their former homes in Israel.
