U.S. Vice President Al Gore took a biblical jab at the National Rifle Association’s president, Charlton Heston, and Texas Gov. George W. Bush, the Republican presidential candidate who has close ties to the NRA. Gore said at a record-breaking $26.5 million Democratic fund-raiser in Washington, “The last time Moses listened to a bush, his people wandered in the desert for 40 years.” Heston portrayed Moses in the movie “The Ten Commandments.”
