The United States Government has no intention of changing either immigration regulations or quotas in connection with next month’s refugee-aid conference at Evian, Secretary of Labor Frances Perking, here on a visit, today indicated at the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
Miss Perking disclosed that six immigration officials attached to American consulates in Europe will be placed at the disposal of Myron C. Taylor, American representative, during the Evian conference to advise him on questions of immigration. A memorandum on existing immigration regulations has been given to Mr. Taylor by the Labor Department, Miss Perkins added.
The French Government today named Senator Henry Berenger, distinguished statesman and former Ambassador to the United States, as its representative to the Evian conference, which is scheduled to open July 6.
