Union of American Hebrew Congregations Will Clarify Its Attitude on Palestine Issue

The attitude of the Union of American Hebrew congregations on the Palestine resolution adopted by the American Jewish Conference Which demanded the establishment of a Jewish Commonwealth, will be clarified at a meeting of the executive board of the Union which will be held next Tuesday in Chicago. It was announced here today.

The meeting will also clarify the UAHC attitude on the resolutions passed recently by the Congregation Beth Israel of Houston, Texas, which provoked much criticism. A Chicago Federation of Reform Synagogues will be formed as a result of the meeting.

The UAHC also announced today the inauguration of an “American Institute for Jewish Studies” to promote Jewish ideals among adults and young people. The Institute is sponsored by the UAHC, Central Conference of American Rabbis, National Federation of Temple Brotherhoods and National Federation of Temple Youth.
