Union of Jewish Communities of Bavaria Holds Conference in Munich; Elects New Officers

Dr. Julius Spanier, member of the Bavarian State Senate, was today elected president of the Union of Communities of Bavaria at a conference held by the Union here. Jean Mandel of Fuerth was elected vice-president, Dr. Siegfried Neuland, a Munich lawyer, was elected chairman of the executive.

The Bavarian parliament opened its session today with a ceremony commemorating the sixth anniversary of the liberation of Nazi victims from the Dachau concentration camp by the Allied armed forces. In connection with the anniversary, a festive performance of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” will be given in the Bavarian State Opera House on Sunday. Admission to the concert will be free for all Nazi victims persecuted because of their race or religion.
