A resolution urging all labor groups to present a united slate in the forthcoming elections to the Assefath Hanivcharim, the Jewish National Assembly of Palestine, was adopted here last night at the closing session of the convention of the opposition group of the Palestine Labor Party.

Should this proposal be rejected by the Labor Party, the convention decided that the opposition will run its own candidates, under the name “Movement for Labor Unity.” This will actually amount to a formal split in the ranks of the Labor Party.

Prior to adjourning, the convention, which was attended by more than 350 delegates from all parts of Palestine, elected a council of 93 members to work out a political program for the group. It also elected a secretariat of 25 members which includes four Histadruth leaders.
