University Awards First Honorary Degrees to Weizmann and Magnes

Dr. Chaim Weizmann, chairman of the board of government of the Hebrew University and former president of the World Zionist Organization, and Dr. Judah L. Magnes, president of the Hebrew University, “in recognition of their outstanding services to the University.”

The announcement of the awards was made by Professor Selig Brodetsky, deputy chairman of the board of governors, prior to re## to England, where he is a professor of mathematics at Leeds University. The degrees will be conferred upon ## Weizmann and Dr. Magnes at the next meeting of the board of governors to be held ## Jerusalem in the Spring of 1948. They are the first honorary degrees ever awarded ## the University.
