President Coolidge has been asked to appoint Albert Ottinger, whose term as Attorney General of New York expires Dec. 31, to the Federal Trade Commission, it was learned.
There is a vacancy on the commission caused by the resignation of Abram F. Myers. Mr. Myers handed in his resignation Dec. 20 and the President accepted it with the understanding he continue to serve until decisions were reached on several cases.
Those who were instrumental in placing Mr. Ottinger’s name before President Coolidge give the impression the suggestion was well received and the appointment will be made.
