Use Anti-semitism As a Blind

(This is the third of a series of articles exposing several new merchants engaged in the lucrative racket of fomenting anti-Semitism.

The three antis—anti-Semitism, anti-Communism and anti-New Deal—have been welded together into a single movement by most of the propagandists who are working to foment the forces of ignorance and hatred in this country.

A peculiarly illogical form of acrobatic sophistry has been used to prove that Jewry, Communism and the Roosevelt administration are one and indivisible. So ridiculous has this campaign been that it might well be expected to excite amusement rather than any other reaction, except that it has gained considerable headway and might eventually lead to a real crisis.

All authentic investigations thus far have led invariably to the conviction that anti-Semitism and anti-Communism are nearly always used as blinds for a heavily financed, but not yet centrally organized, attempt to discredit the President and his official family.

Thus your dyed-in-the-wool anti-Semite and Red-baiter speaks in glowing terms of James True and grooms him as a prospective national leader of the numerous isolated forces all working toward the same end.

True is the head of an organization known as America First Inc., which makes its headquarters in Washington. In October of last year Gen. Hugh Johnson, then head of the National Recovery Administration, barred him from a press conference on the ground that he had been repeatedly guilty of sending out information in a purported effort to sabotage the NRA.

A veteran Washington correspondent, True formerly devoted most of his time to servicing various trade journals. Recently, however, he has given himself over almost exclusively to sending out what he terms Industrial Control Reports.
