The “V” sign emblazoned in red, white and blue is spreading throughout the cities of Palestine. Cars, lorries, windows and walls here and in Haifa and Tel Aviv bear the sign of Victory. The “V” song, sung to the accompaniment of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, can be heard in many cafes.
