Reports published in the London press last week that Augustin Cardinal Bea is about to resign from his post as president of the Vatican’s Secretariate for Christian Unity were officially denied here today. Cardinal Bea, who is 82 years old, is known to be a great friend of the Jews and is one of the foremost proponents for closer Christian-Jewish relations.
(A memorandum on Catholic-Jewish relations submitted by the World Jewish Congress to the Ecumenical Council which resumed its meeting today at Vatican City was discussed last week in London by A. L.
