Vice President Walter Mondale has discussed the case of Anatoly Shcharansky with President Carter, it was disclosed. Administration sources said the case of the Soviet-Jewish dissident is “a matter of continuing concern to the U.S.” Mondale had promised last week that he would report personally to Carter the plea of Mrs. Shcharansky that she be reunited in Israel with her husband who has been in a Moscow prison since March 15. Mondale, who made the promise during an address to the B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation League’s annual meeting here, said Shcharansky should be considered as among the 36 righteous men.
