Dr. Julius Brutzkus, 70-year-old Jewish leader and head of the world OSE, Jewish health society, was among a number of Jewish social workers arrested in unoccupied France, it was disclosed today, has been under arrest for three weeks, while the others have been released.
Solomon Dyk, well-known agricultural expert, who visited Madagascar three years ago as member of a Polish Government survey commission, was also arrested, but was released after two weeks’ detention. Others released include Israel Coralnik, general secretary of the World ORT Union, Jewish vocational retraining society; Goldman, secretary of the ORT in France, and Konstantin Leites, member of the ORT Council. The latter was held for four days.
Many less important social workers were also detained for short periods.
