A Vienna Jew, Joseph Israel Hopp, has been sentenced to four months imprisonment on a charge of concealing his Jewish origin in order “to enjoy Aryan rations,” the newspaper Wiener Tageblatt reports.

The paper says that Hopp, registering himself as an “Aryan,” obtained a full ration card, “to which Jews have no right,” and thus “enjoyed Aryan rations from September to the end of December, when the fraud was discovered.” After his prison term, Hopp will be placed at the disposition of the police for “further disciplinary measures,” it was stated.
