See Original Daily Bulletin From This Date

The Vienna Rabbinate has appealed to the Allied Control Council to speed the return of Austrian war prisoners to their homes.

The Rabbinate’s action is part of a campaign by Austrian clergymen of all denominations to secure the return of war prisoners from Allied countries and work camps. The Rabbinate’s appeal points out that its plea is free of self-interost because the Nazis in Austria barred the Jews from military service and there are no Jewish prisoners.
