Violent crime tops the list of Israeli fears. Against a backdrop of increasingly frequent gang wars and assaults, a Tel Aviv University survey released this week found that 23 percent of respondents cited violence as the biggest threat to Israeli society. Only 17 percent said terrorism or war was their biggest fear.
