Violinist Yitzhak Perlman was among five artists honored with an achievement award at Kennedy Center. In addition to Perlman, who is Israeli-born and now lives in the United States, actress Carol Burnett, singer Loretta Lynn, director Mike Nichols and singer James Brown were honored at Saturday night’s event in Washington.
