The World Jewish Congress has submitted a memorandum to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization calling for immediate application of these principles contained in the draft. International Covenant of Human Rights which are included in the document’s definition of the rights of education, it was reported here to the current meeting of UNESCO by its director-general.
The report says that the W.J.C. has submitted to the Economic and Social Council an amendment to the covenant asking that those rights whose exercise do not depend upon available resources should be exercised immediately. The Congress expressed particular concern about the provision calling for the abolition of racial, ethnic and religious discrimination in education.
