Fraser Gardner, Washington “legislative expert,” has filed a demurrer in District Court to a Grand Jury indictment for perjury charging him with having sought an investigator’s position with the Dies Committee investigating un-American activities while having connections with William Dudley Pelley, Silver Shirt leader. The demurrer held the indictment should be dropped on the ground that the Dies Committee was non existent. It said the committee’s life expired on Jan. 3, at the beginning of the last session of Congress.
