Establishment of a Latin American department by the Weizmann Institute of Science, which will be headed by Dr. S. Tocker, who formerly directed a similar department for the Palestine Foundation Fund, was announced today.
In a letter addressed to Dr. Tocker, President Weizmann of Israel wrote that he “was very glad” that Dr. Tocker had been appointed representative of the Weizmann Institute for the Latin American countries. “I believe the Institute will be one of the vital weapons in our struggle for the upbuilding of Israel and its scientific achievement and good reputation will reflect on every Jewish community all over the world,” Dr. Weizmann’s letter said.
