Weizmann Institute cancer researcher Prof. Michael Feldman has received the Griffuel Prize awarded by the French Association of Cancer Research, the Institute has announced.
Feldman, a pioneer of cancer research in Israel, is dean of the Weizmann Institute’s biology faculty and founder and head of its cell biology department. He was cited for his important contributions to the study of cancer metastases, the secondary growths which spread the original disease to other parts of the body.
The Institute also announced that a documentary film describing on-going Institute research into the changing composition of the Dead Sea has won a Golden Anchor, the first prize in the 16th International Marine and Exploration Film Festival, an annual event held in Toulon, France.
