Weltman, Soviet Oriental Expert, Dies at Age of 56

Pavolvvitch Weltman, well-known Soviet Orientalist, died here yesterday at the age of 56.

Welman was the chanceller of the Moscow Institute for Oriental Science and was regarded as one of the leading experts on Imperial Eastern problems. He was also among the leading Soviet experts to participate in the Peace Conference at Brest-Litovsk between the Russian and German Government. During the period of 1921-1923 he was a member of the Commisariat of Nationalities.

A Midwestern branch of the Union of Orthodox Congregations for the States of Indiana and Wisconsin was organized in Milwaukee. Rabbi S. I. Scheinleld, Malwaukee. M. J. Mintz of Beth-Israel Congregation. Milwaukee, president. An executive board of fifteen members was elected.
