Mayor Klaus Schutz of West Berlin told representatives of the Jewish community here this weekend that right-wing radicalism remained a problem in Germany, and required careful observation. “But I would not agree with those who fear that the criminals of yesterday could ever get a chance in Germany,” he added.
The Mayor spoke at a ceremony in the community center marking the 29th anniversary of the “Crystal Night.” He stressed that he was firmly convinced that Nazism and radicalism did not have another chance in West Germany.
