The West Berlin Senate has allocated 15,000 deutschemarks ($3,600) to the Jewish community for religious education, it was reported here today. The grant puts Jewish religious institutions here on a par proportionately with non-Jewish religious institutions, with respect to government subventions.
West Berlin’s Mayor Willy Brandt and Ambassador Ellezer P. Shinnar head of the Israel Mission at Cologne, attended the opening today of an exhibition of Israeli arts and crafts being held at the Jewish Community House here in connection with the Berlin Festival.
