The first conference of the Zionists of Western Canada was opened at the Saskatchewan Hotel here with one hundred delegates from all parts of the prairie provinces.
The Premier of the Province of Saskatchewan and the Mayor of Regina welcomed the delegates.
During the past twelve months, Western Canada contributed to Palestine funds as much as during the preceding eighteen months, Rabbi J. L. Zlotnik, Executive Director of the Jewish National Fund, reported.
The conference in a resolution adopted decided to celebrate the week of July 8 as Herzl Memorial Week. A special body to promote commercial relations between Palestine and Canada will be created, according to another resolution adopted. It was also decided to organize lodges of the Zionist youth order, Habonim, throughout Canada.
