Clemency for the two Jewish youths sentenced to death in Palestine for firing on an Arab bus was urged today in a letter presented by the Rev. J.K. Goldbloom, chairman of the executive committee of the British Zionist Federation, to Colonial Secretary Malcolm MacDonald for transmission to Major General Robert H. Haining, General Officer in Command of British forces in Palestine. Dr. Goldbloom pointed to the provocation to the Jewish community caused by continuing Arab terrorism and declared it was not surprising that there had been a breakdown in Jewish self-restraint.
