A man who has dedicated his life to tracking down Nazi war criminals charged here today that the Austrian Red Cross is aiding Nazi fugitives to escape justice. Simon Wiesenthal, director of the Jewish Document Center here, submitted to Minister of Justice Klecatsky information that the Austrian Red Cross is misusing its position by warning Nazis still at large that they are on the wanted lists. The Austrian attorney general immediately ordered an investigation of Mr. Wiesenthal’s charge that the Red Cross is publishing lists of wanted Nazis in newspapers normally read by the fugitives.
