Chipkin, chairman of the board of trustees of the Lena Socolow Palestine Scholarship Fund, announced yesterday that Leslie Flaksman of the Bronx, has been selected from among seventy-five applicants as the winner of the scholarship for this year. The award provides for living expenses and tuition during an eight months’ stay in Palestine under the auspices of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Provision will also be made for visits and sojourns in the agricultural and industrial settlements and places of historic and religious significance.
