Wise Appeals to Radio Priest to Correct False View of Jews

Rabbi Stephe### Wise, in #is sermon at the ### Synagogue in Carnegie Hall yesterday, called upon the Rev. Charles F. Cough#n, Detroit radio priest, to correct at the earliest opportunity an impression, “ceated by indirection,” that the Jews are primarily responsible for present economic conditions.

Unless this correction is made, Father Coughlin will have to bear the responsibility “for a terrible anti-Semitic outbreak in America if such an outbreak is evoked by Father Coughlin’s saying, in effect that a group of Jewish bankers are the masters of American industry and finance,” Dr. Wise said.
