A conference preliminary to the world Jewish congress being organized by the American Jewish Congress opened here yesterday afternoon with Dr. Stephen S. Wise, honorary president of the Congress, addressing 100 delegates from Europe, the United States, Africa and Palestine on the world situation of the Jews.
The conference, which will continue tomorrow, is being attended by Chaim Nachman Bialik, famous Hebrew poet; Isaac Gruenbaum, leader of Polish Jewry, and Ab Goldberg and Z. Tygel, Americans.
