Moynihan, said Wednesday night. Addressing a gathering of the New York League for Histadrut, Moynihan, who is a Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate, observed that “Israel became a metaphor for democracy in our world.” He described the recent hijacking of the French airliner to Uganda as “an attack of totalitarianism on democracy.”
