The Belvedere, the palace where President Wojciechowski and the members of the Witos government were in retirement following the entry of Pilsudski’s troops into the capital, was taken by Pilsudski’s partisans, despatches received here from Warsaw state.
Members of the Witos cabinet were arrested by Pilsudski, following a hard battle which took place on the Aleja Ujazdowska, the street leading to the Belvedere. Many were reported to have been killed in the battle.
The railway workers union has proclaimed a railway strike in order to prevent the followers of the Witos government from bringing anti-Pilsudski troops into the city.
The resignation of the Witos cabinet demanded by Pilsudski, was effected.
The Crakow “Friday Courier” reports that anti-Semitic excesses on a large scale took place in the Warsaw train section of the Crakow railway depot.
Paris reports state that four army corps are besieging Warsaw.
