Woman Named by Israel Govt. As Counselor to Rabbinical Courts

Dr. Hannah Schneirson of Tel Aviv was named today by the Ministry of Religious Affairs as the first woman counselor to district rabbinical courts.

Dr. Schneirson, who is well versed in both rabbinic and civic law, will have an office in Tel Aviv for persons seeking advice regarding matters before the religious courts. Her services, which will be free, will pertain mostly to matters of personal status over which the rabbinical courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
