A “Jerusalem luncheon” of the Women’s League for Palestine, attended by 2,000 persons at the Hotel Astor, today cabled $25,000 to Palestine for construction of the league’s third home for refugee and pioneer girls, cornerstone of which was laid at 6 p.m. Jerusalem time with Menachem M. Ussishkin, Miss Henrietta Szold, David Ben Gurion, Pinchas Rutenberg and other notables scheduled to participate.
Speakers Included City Council President Newbold Morris, Mrs. David L. Isaacs, the league’s Palestine chairman; Mrs. William Prince, president, and Rabbi Israel Levinthal.
