The establishment of a section of the World Jewish Congress in Denmark by eight communal bodies there was reported here today by Dr. Isaac Schwartzbart, director of the WJC’s organization department.
This allows Danish Jewry to appoint a delegate to the forth coming plenary assembly of the WJC in Stockholm. There are in Denmark at present about 6,500 Jews, of whom 99 percent reside in Copenhagen. The community has an official status recognized by a governmental decree of 1814.
