The world Jewish population was estimated at 13,628,000 at the end of 1967, with 50 percent living in the Western Hemisphere, according to the 1968 edition of the American Jewish Yearbook. The book, just published here, said that the United States had 5,800,000 Jews; the Soviet Union, 2,568,000; Israel, 2,365,000; and France, 535,000. Argentina’s Jewish population was put at 450,000, as was Great Britain’s.
