The existence of a terroristic gang of self-named Moslem Arab patriots was reported in the Arab press to have been confessed today by one of the prisoners wounded in yesterday’s battle in the Gilboa Hills between British police and Arab brigands.

The prisoner, Sheik Nimmer Hassan Saadi, is quoted as declaring that the gang was secretly organized at Haifa with the purpose of killing Jews and Englishmen for the honor of Islan and the fatherland.

Sheik Nimmer is also reported as having confessed that this gang killed the Jewish police sergeant Moshe Rosenfeld on Nov. 7 while he was tracking thieves who had been looting grapefruit graves in the vicinity of the Jewish colony Ein Chared. He said that the gang carefully avoided harming an Arab policemen who was with Rosenfeld.

“We were armed with rifles and 7,000 rounds of ammunition bought from our own earnings,” the Arab press quotes the Sheik. “We took into the gang only true believers ready to die for the fatherland.”

According to the prisoner, the gang’s chief is Ukoik Kazdin Ulema.

In Government circles, the statement by Nimmer is regarded as an effort to disguise the criminals as patriots.
