Yad Vashem recently honored several Poles as Righteous Gentiles who risked their lives to save Jews during the Holocaust. In Krakow, three Poles received awards honoring the actions of their deceased parents. Awards also were presented to two local families at a ceremony in Tychy, an industrial town near Katowice.
