Yehudit Naot, a former Israeli environment minister, died. Naot, 60, of the secular-rights Shinui Party, was diagnosed with throat cancer shortly after assuming the ministry two years ago, but continued to work even though she couldn’t speak. She died Dec. 16 at her Haifa home.
