A total of $100,000 has been raised thus far by Yeshiva University for its scholarship fund, it was reported here last night at the University’s 24th annual scholarship dinner at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel.
The funds will be applied toward the University’s scholarship budget of $231,000 which has been allocated for the academic year 1952-53 to assist a record number of 992 students with tuition, board and maintenance. Twelve hundred persons attended the dinner, chaired by Charles H. Silver, a member of the New York City Board of Education. The New York Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Andre Kostelanetz, presented a concert with Metropolitan Opera stars Hilda Guedon and Frerruccio Tagliavini as guest soloists.
