The well known Yiddish poet, Itzhak Manger, and his family are threatened with loss of their Rumanian citizenship. Their citizenship papers are now under revision. Manger has translated Rumanian folk songs into Yiddish and has helped to popularize Rumanian literature abroad, in addition to his Yiddish poetry. He was born in Berlin, the son of a Rumanian, and came here at the age of 14.
