The 36th annual convention of the National Council of Young Israel opened here today with approximately 1,000 delegates from all sections of the country attending. The four-day convention will deal with problems concerning youth activities, boy scouts, veterans aid, employment, education, overseas relief and Palestine. The central theme of the convention is a program for fighting religious indifference and assimilation.
