A plan for the reorganization of the Metropolitan League of Jewish Community Associations will be the main order of business at the League’s ninth annual convention, to be held Thursday at the Y.M.H.A., West 110th Street. The League is the central agency for forty-three Y.M. and Y.W.H.A.’s and other Jewish Centers in Greater New York, Westchester and Long Island, with a combined membership of more than 100,000.
The proposed plan, according to M. Maldwin Fertig, president of the League, is the result of a year’s study made by joint committees representing the Jewish Welfare Board, the League, and the Metropolitan Association of Jewish Center Workers. It will be submitted to lay and professional delegates of the constituent societies attending the convention.

The plan was recently approved in principle by the executive committee of the Jewish Welfare Board, the national organization of Jewish Centers, of which Judge Irving Lehman is president. Under the plan, the Metropolitan League will be known as the Metropolitan Division of the Jewish Welfare Board. The new governing board will be composed of delegates of the Jewish Welfare Board, representatives of the constituent societies and delegates of the Metropolitan Association of Jewish Center Workers.
The convention will be opened by a public dinner attended by the delegates and alternates, members of the League’s administrative council, and interested laymen and center workers.
A panel discussion on “Jewish Centers and Public Issues” is included in the educational program of the convention. The discussion will be led by Samuel Kaufman of Mt. Vernon. Other members of the panel will be Judge David C. Lewis, Rabbi Alexander Basel, Mrs. Ray F. Schwartz, Jack Nadel, Graenum Berger, Dr. Henry Fleischman, A. W. Rosenthal, Samuel S. Solender, Moses W. Beckelman, Rabbi A. F. Landesman and Herman Jacobs.
